Preacher said there is a place

Golden streets and pearly gates

Mansion made there just for me

Home Sweet Home eternally

There actually is a place that I’ve never been to that I call Home. I long for it, sight unseen, and am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for me there… and for ALL those who have put their trust in Him!

Preacher said the Lord will come

Shout out loud to call me Home

When I hear that angel cry

Fly right up into that sky

Good parents always call their kids home at the end of the day, even if they have to go pick them up from wherever the day has taken them. And one day, ‘the Lord Himself’ will do the same:

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.  And the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).  Home forever!!

Trumpet sound all around

Lift my feet up off this ground

Call me Home, call me Home

From the time of the Apostle Paul, the Lord’s people have been joyfully anticipating the day when they might hear that shout from Heaven and the voice of the archangel with the trumpet of God to call them Home… and I’m no different!

Preacher said I soon may die

Go to meet the Lord on High

It is true that I may die before that glorious day. But that only means that I’ll be one of those resurrected from the dead.  However,

I’d just sooner stick around

See Him coming in the clouds

…Wouldn’t you?!  Some day soon!!
