LEAN IN TO JESUS
O my soul, so frightened and alone
Let the Lord give you comfort and peace
Trust in Him, He’ll never let you go
O take heart, my soul, and lean
O my soul. I really do talk to myself… a lot actually! And I know that I’m in good company too, with the likes of King David in Psalm 62 and the sons of Korah in Psalms 42 & 43!
But I also know that it is important to be telling myself the truth just like they did; it is vital to be speaking the Word of God to my soul.
O my soul, so weary and worn down
Let the Lord give you courage and strength
Trust in Him, He’ll help you overcome
O take heart, my soul, and lean
John 1:1 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:14 follows with “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us… full of grace and truth.”
The Word of God is Jesus, ‘full of grace and truth’. Exactly what we need!
Let go sorrow, let go fear
No more sighing, dry your tears
O my soul, take heart and lean
Let go striving, let go doubt
No more worry, wipe your brow
O my soul, take heart and lean
So when I’m frightened and alone, and when I’m weary and worn down, I go to the Word of God. And as I read, as I listen, I am truly leaning in to Jesus Himself. Jesus, the Promise Keeper. Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Lean in to Jesus
Lean in to Jesus
Lean in to Jesus
O my soul, take heart and lean
